Tower of David

The Tower of David Museum of the History of Jerusalem is located in a medieval citadel, near the Jaffa Gate and the historic entrance to the city, at the juncture between the old and the new. The museum presents the story of Jerusalem, detailing the major events in its history beginning with the first evidence of a city in the 2nd millennium BCE, until it became the capital of the State of Israel, emphasizing its significance to the three major religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The permanent exhibition illustrates the city’s history along the axis of time using a myriad of methods. The museum also hosts temporary exhibits, cultural events and special performances.
