Armon Hanatziv Ridge

Urban Nature Survey Site No. 71. Adjacent to the UN Headquarters and the East Talpiot neighborhood. Nearby streets include Alar, Avshalom Habib and Raziel. Elongated narrow rocky elevation, aligned east - west. Natural open area with unique plateau-like rock formation, the last remaining example in the city. The western part of the site includes a well maintained park, rich woods with mature and ancient orchard trees. Desert scrub including burnet and prickly weeds cover the bedrock. Hundreds of flowering squill dot the area, there is an ancient juniper tree and concentrations of geophytes. The site attracts a large variety of birds (relative to its small size), in part because of its proximity to the desert and open scrubland areas. Pedestrian, car, public transportation and wheelchair access, parking facilities available.
