Jerusalem Theatre

Founded in 1971 by Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kollek, and philanthropists Gila and Miles Sherover, the Jerusalem Theatre is Israel’s largest and most active performing arts center featuring spectacular theatre, dance and musical performances, with local and internationally acclaimed guests from around the world in a variety of styles. The beautiful building, planned by architect Michael Nadler, has become a recognized landmark in Jerusalem. Home to the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra (IBA) and the Israel Camerata, the Jerusalem Theatre also hosts the Israel Festival, the Oud Festival, the Curtains Up Festival, the Jerusalem Arts Festival, and produces the-End-of-Summer Festival of arts every August on the Theatre plaza. In addition, the Theatre stages dozens of art exhibits throughout the year in its main foyer, and provides courses and workshops for children and adults. Wheelchair accessible.
