Beit Bunim

Situated on the corner of Rambam and Arlozorov Streets, this distinctive building is considered to be one of the most beautiful and important examples of the international style in Israel. Designed by the architect Leopold Krakauer, who sought to combine modern architectural features with elements reminiscent of traditional local Arab construction, the house was built in 1935 for Dr. Paul Bunim, a rich German gynecologist, whose family resided in the building until 1967. Today it is a branch of the Bank Leumi chain, serving residents of the Rehavia neighborhood.
