Old Yishuv Court Museum

Situated in the Jewish Quarter, the Old Yishuv Court Museum presents the daily life of Jews in the Old City from the 16^th Century through the Ottoman rule, until the fall of the quarter to the Jordanian Legion during the War of Independence in 1948. A walk through the museum’s rooms and exhibits, in a building that is more than 500 years old, serves as a return in time to the pre-state period, with hundreds of artifacts from day-to-day life in a world that disappeared: Ottoman Jerusalem, the end of the 19^th century and the Mandatory period. Special emphasis is placed on the different crafts that characterized life in the Old City at those times and the commercial ventures that were founded there. The museum houses permanent as well as temporary exhibitions.
