Yad Yitzhak Ben-Zvi

Located in the Rehavia neighborhood, Yad Yitzhak Ben-Zvi is the leading institution in Israel and abroad for the research and dissemination of knowledge relating to Jerusalem and the Land of Israel. It operates from what was the home and offices of late President Yitzhak Ben-Zvi and his wife, Rahel Yanait. The old presidential complex was the official residence of two of Israel’s presidents between 1953 and 1967. It is situated in the picturesque Kuzari courtyard, with tree lined paths that was planed by the architect Richard Kaufman as the core of the Rehavia neighborhood in the early 20th century. The building is also known as the “shack” because of its modest structure, representative of a different period in the country’s history.
